Airstrikes Reported at Voronezh Airfield in Russia

Airstrikes were reported at Voronezh Airfield, in the Voronezh Oblast of Russia, on the border with Ukraine. Sources report that a number of explosions were reported in the city of Voronezh. Local Telegram and VK pages have reported that drones have impacted both Voronezh Airfield and in the city of Voronezh. 10 loud explosions were reported. 

The city of Voronezh is around 180 miles from the Ukrainian border. Voronezh Airfield is home to the 47th Composite Guards Aviation Regiment. Two squadrons of Sukhoi Su-34s operate from this base. 

The governor of the Voronezh Oblast reported that were no casualties from the attack, however, multiple residential buildings were hit. 3 Ukrainian drones were destroyed by local air defenses during the attack.

There have been a large number of prior drone attacks in the region. These attacks have hit Russian military assets, apartment buildings, and its local airfield.

This attack comes as Russia has recently attacked civilian and military targets in Ukraine with large waves of missiles and drones.
