At approximately 1907 EST, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) authority announced that an incident was underway 57NM northwest of Assab, Eritrea.
By 2000 EST, UKMTO reported that a small vessel had approached the merchant vessel. However, the merchant vessel fired a warning shot at the smaller craft, which quickly fled the scene. The merchant vessel is proceeding to its next port.
