French President Emmanuel Macron announced that France will send 40 long-range SCALP-EG missiles and “hundreds of bombs” to Ukraine according to BFMTV.
The SCALP-EG missile is an air-launched cruise missile that was jointly developed between France and the United Kingdom. The British variant of the missile, the Storm Shadow, has been used to great effect by Ukrainian forces against Russian land and sea targets.
These missiles are capable of hitting targets up to 500 kilometers away, but the missiles have been modified to a maximum range of 250 kilometers.
Macron also announced that he will be making a trip to Ukraine in February.
