Missile Strike Causes ISIS Prisoner Jailbreak, Al-Sinaa Prison, Syria

At approximately 0000 EST, eywtinesses reported a missile strike on the al-Sinaa hospital in Geweran, Hasakah, Syria. This prison is a major detention facility of ISIS fighters, controlled by the Western-aligned, Syrian Defense Forces (SDF).

While the SDF only reported material damage and no casualties, if did report that dozens of ISIS prisoners attempted a jailbreak in the midst of the attack.

There has been no confirmation as of this publication on responsibility for the strike. However, it is worth noting that the 2022 Battle of Al-Hasakah demonstrated the perilous situation the SDF can be in if tight security procedures are not implemented against the thousands of radicalized prisoners in that densely packed compound. Those procedures appear to have worked during this attack.
