Update – A Missile Attack on al-Sina'a Prison and Foiled Attempted Escape
At approximately 07:30 this morning, the al-Sina'a Prison in al-Hasakah city, housing the detainees of ISIS terrorists, was subjected to a missile strike targeting the so-called "Cubs of the Caliphate"…— Farhad Shami (@farhad_shami) January 16, 2024
There has been no confirmation as of this publication on responsibility for the strike. However, it is worth noting that the 2022 Battle of Al-Hasakah demonstrated the perilous situation the SDF can be in if tight security procedures are not implemented against the thousands of radicalized prisoners in that densely packed compound. Those procedures appear to have worked during this attack.
