The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has confirmed that strikes targeted and “destroyed a Houthi surface-to-air missile prepared to launch.”
“U.S. forces identified the missile in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen and determined that it presented an imminent threat to U.S. aircraft,” the statement added.
The follows reports from Houthi-affiliated sources of airstrike activity in the Saada Governorate in northwestern Yemen.
This marks the 11th round of strikes against the Houthis since the start of operations on January 11.
