There are initial reports of a drone strike targeting a vehicle reportedly carrying Kataib Hezbollah leadership in eastern Baghdad, Iraq.
Kataib Hezbollah is the primary element of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an umbrella organization of Iran-backed Shia militias responsible for over 150 attacks against American forces in the region in recent months.
This latests trike signals a continuation of operations against group in response to the January 29 drone attack against the T-22 outpost in Jordan, which left three American soldiers dead.
On February 2, the first round of American strikes targeted 85 militia and IRGC targets in Iraq and Syria.
