Kim Jong Un Visits Factories as Part of Plan to Revive the Economy

As part of his 20×10 regional development policy, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited factories and food production facilities to witness the progress of his aid plan on February 7th.

The goal of the visits was to “inspect the modernization status, management conditions, and construction layouts of the regional factories in Kimhwa that were set up on a pilot basis,” according to Kim.

This initiative is a small part of a much larger plan that will span over 10 years, aiming to improve the economic status and stability of financially struggling North Korean citizens. Pyongyang is attempting to achieve this goal by constructing 20 new factories throughout the country to revitalize the economy.
