According to a statement from the United States Department of Defense (DoD), the American Embassy staffer who was found dead in their apartment has been identified as U.S. Army Reserve Lt. Col. Orlando Bandeira, who was assigned to the 3rd Brigade, 94th Training Division, while supporting the Department of State in Jerusalem.
The DoD added that death was “a result of a non-combat related incident” that is currently under investigation. No other information was provided.
