The Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs has announced that the Canadian embassy in Port-au-Prince, Haiti will close to all but essential employees.
We have proceeded today to reduce our footprint to essential employees at our embassy in Port-au-Prince ??.
This will allow us to maintain our presence in Haiti to support Canadians during this volatile situation, given limited availability of supplies.

This most likely means that consular services will still be available to Canadian citizens while the crisis continues. However, according to the embassy’s website:
“The Embassy of Canada to Haiti, in Port-au-Prince, is closed temporarily to the public due to the unpredictable security situation. Consular services will be provided remotely.”
If you are still in Haiti and are seeking Canadian consular services, please use the website.
