According to the German Embassy in London, a helicopter from the German Frigate Hessen destroyed a Houthi drone in the Red Sea this morning, a first for the vessel’s crew during the crisis.

The Hessen was commissioned in 2006 and is the third and final ship of the class for Germany’s long-range surface combatants. She carries 2 Sea Lynx Mk.88A or 2 NH90 helicopters equipped with torpedoes, air-to-surface missiles Sea Skua, and/or heavy machine gun, it is not currently clear which type/model/series helo made the kill or with what weapons system.
