Chinese Officials Issue Warning Over Upcoming Taiwanese Live Fire Exercise

China’s Taiwan Affairs Office (TAO) spokeswoman Chen Binhua claimed Taiwan is “provoking trouble” by conducting a series of live fire exercises near Kinmen in a press conference on Wednesday, March 27th.

Despite Taiwanese officials claiming the exercises are “routine” and were not made to target any specific country, Chen claims the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is “well aware in their hearts.”

He elaborated, saying how the people of Kinmen “personally experienced the transition between peace and war” and how they increasingly “cherish peace and oppose war.”

The TAO will closely monitor the drills. Chen warned the Taiwanese, stating, “If they provoke trouble and dare to act rashly, they will surely fail.”
