According to the United States Central Command (USCENTCOM), over 5,000 AK-47s, machine guns, sniper rifles, RPG-7s and over 500,000 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition have been transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These weapons and ammunition were seized between May 22nd, 2021, and February 15th, 2023, while in route from Iran to the Houthis in Yemen. While the intent to transfer these weapons to Ukraine was reported in October 2023, this is the first report confirming that it was completed.
