Tornado Rips Through Lincoln, NE

At approximately 1300 EST, the first tornado warnings were issued for Ravenna, Nebraska as storm conditions rapidly deteriorated. By 1500 EST, tornadoes had touched down in Wolbach, Elba, and Ravenna. At 1608 EST, that storm cell had crossed Interstate 80 and a massive tornado had cut the highway North of Lincoln.

As of this publication the Garner Industries building has been heavily damaged, but all employees have been accounted for. There are reportedly three people injured.

A train has also been derailed in Waverly after a tornado swept through that area.

However, the worst damage seems to be in Elkhorn and Bennington Lake where dozens of homes have been destroyed.

A warning is still in effect for Blair where the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Plant is located.

This is developing.
