Barricade Situation, Montego Bay, Jamaica

At approximately 2150 EST, initial reports indicated that a barricade situation was underway at the Freeport Police Station in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Those reports detailed that two prisoners were shot after a prisoner seized the weapon of an officer at the station.

Local media, specifically the Nationwide Radio JM, reported that an inmate at the station disarmed a police officer and shot two inmates. The suspect shot one inmate in the neck, and one inmate in the chest after injuring a police officer in the hand.

After a response team made contact with the suspect, he reportedly surrendered and the situation has since concluded at the station.
