It lies between the larger village of Klishchiivka to the north and the urban settlement of Kurdiumivka to the south. Russia seized the village on November 30th, 2022. During the 2023 Ukrainian counteroffensive, Ukrainian troops retook the village from the Chechen Akmat Battalion. The Ukrainian 3rd Separate Assault Brigade conducted that action and reported also clearing the Russian 72nd Separate Motor Rifle Brigade. This would make this the third time of the war this village has changed hands.
