$275 Million Ukrainian Kharkiv Defense Package Announced by Biden

The Biden Administration’s 58th equipment package, announced today, May 24th, sent through the DoD inventories using the Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA), has been deemed to be part of the U.S. effort “to help Ukraine repel Russia’s assault near Kharkiv. ” HIMARS resupply, air-launched munitions, and anti-tank weapons are the highlighted parts of the package. The estimated value of military weapons and supplies being sent is $275 million.

  • Ammunition for HIMARS;
  • 155mm and 105mm artillery rounds;
  • 60mm mortar rounds;
  • Tube-Launched, Optically-Tracked, Wire-Guided (TOW) missiles;
  • Javelin and AT-4 anti-armor systems;
  • Precision aerial munitions;
  • Small arms and additional rounds of small arms ammunition and grenades;
  • Demolitions munitions;
  • Anti-armor mines;
  • Tactical vehicles to recover equipment;
  • Helmets, body armor, and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear protective equipment; and
  • Spare parts, maintenance, and other ancillary equipment.
