A terror plot in the Scottish capital of Edinburgh, with a population of over half a million, was foiled in August 2023, according to information released by the British National Crime Agency (NCA) recently. A 16-year-old reportedly planning to carry out a shooting in the city was arrested in a counter-terrorism investigation titled “Operation Ferulic” that was jointly run by the NCA and Police Scotland according to the BBC. The teenager was arrested on August 10th and charged with an offense under the Terrorism Act 2000 and a breach of the peace.
