Clashes Reported Between Israeli and Egyptian Forces on Gaza Border

Local medias have reported that clashes have taken place between Egyptian and Israeli security forces on the Egyptian border with Rafah, a city in the southern Gaza Strip. The IDF has confirmed the incident.

The “very unusual incident” reportedly, according to Israeli sources, began when Egyptian forces opened fire upon an IDF truck, prompting the IDF to return fire. One Egyptian soldier was apparently killed, as well as several injured, in the exchange of fire. No casualties have been reported on the Israeli side.

In contrast, some Egyptian sources have claimed the IDF opened fire first.

The clashes are not still ongoing.
