Japanese authorities have lifted evacuation orders for Okinawa Prefecture after it was determined that a projectile launched from North Korea would not pass over the region.
Likewise, footage of the projectile appears to show it explode mid-flight. So far there is no indication that it was intercepted, suggesting a malfunction.
It remains unclear at this time if the launch was a missile test or a rocket carrying a satellite into orbit.
