ISIS forums on Telegram have posted the below image threatening the T20 Cricket Tournament to be held at the Nassau County Cricket Stadium in New York. While the tournament is to be held from June 1st to June 28th, the image threatens an attack on June 6th.
The image infers an attack on the sports venue with the individual armed with a rifle, explosives, and drones.
No public comment has been made by law enforcement as of this publication.
The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium is a new cricket stadium that was built in Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, New York, in Nassau County on Long Island. The stadium was built especially for the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup which is the ninth edition of the T20 World Cup, a biennial tournament contested by men’s national teams and organised by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
It will be be co-hosted by the West Indies and the United States from June 1st to June 29th, 2024. this is the first iteration to be held in the U.S.
