US-Russian dual national Yuri Malev has been sentenced to 3.5 years in jail by the St. Petersburg Court in the Russian Federation. The announcement reads below:
“The St. Petersburg City Court announced the verdict in the criminal case against Yuri Malev, who was found guilty of committing crimes under Part 4 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (2 episodes). The case was considered in a special manner. The court imposed a sentence of imprisonment for a period of 3.5 years in a colony-settlement with a ban on engaging in activities related to posting materials on information and telecommunication networks, including the Internet, for 1.5 years.”
On Saturday, December 9, the Smolninsky District Court of St. Petersburg arrested local resident Yuri Malev, a U.S. dual national from Brooklyn, New York for disrespecting the St. George Ribbon on his social media account. He is now convicted of rehabilitating Nazism.
