The Iran-backed Shia militia Kataib Sayyid al-Shuhada, which is part of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, confirmed that one of its fighters was killed last night during a suspected Israeli airstrike near the Syrian city of al-Bukamal, which is located on the border with Iraq.
The strike is believed to have targeted a vehicle transporting weapons from Iraq into Syria. Israeli strikes recently targeted a Hezbollah weapons convoy that had entered Lebanon from Syria.
The United States-led Operation Inherent Resolved denied that American or coalition forces were involved in the operation.
