Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group to Enter CENTCOM AOR, Replace Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that the USS Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group will replace the Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group (IKE CSG) in the Middle East following the completion of a exercise in the Indo-Pacific.

The IKE CSG, which has been deployed for over eight months, is scheduled to return back to the United States.

In a statement, CENTCOM said that “Flying over 30,000 hours and sailing over 55,000 miles the IKE CSG demonstrated our commitment to regional stability and protected freedom of navigation throughout the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. The IKE CSG also upheld their commitment to safety of all seafarers, rescuing mariners in distress on several occasions following unprovoked attacks on innocent mariners by Iranian-backed Houthis.”
