The Naval Criminal Investigative Service has announced it has launched an investigation into the death of Marine Corps Major General (Ret.) William Mullen onboard Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms on June 29th, 2024.
NCIS Spokesperson Darwin Lam told Military.com:
”I can confirm that NCIS is conducting a thorough investigation into the death of retired Maj. Gen. William Mullen, as we do in response to any non-combat, medically unattended fatalities involving Navy and USMC equities, service members, and affiliated civilian personnel.”
Results of his autopsy and cause of death have not been disclosed.
