U.S. and Canada Re-Open Embassies in Kyiv

Both the United States and Canada have sent diplomatic parties to Kyiv to re-open their embassies.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was spotted raising the Maple Leaf at the embassy as diplomatic staff began standing up basic services in the once-shuttered building.

U.S. Charge d’Affaires Kvien has also returned to the US Embassy in Kyiv. Her announcement came with the statement: “the US embassy is back.” However, embassy operations are supposed to stand back up again in the coming weeks as the staff re-integrates.
