Pro-Russian Telegram users have been circulating a letter, reportedly written by members of the 155th Guards Naval Infantry Brigade, to the Governor of Primorsky Krai, Russia. The letter is an impassioned plea to the Governor, where the unit is based, to investigate Russian military leaders who have sacrificed more than 300 soldiers and half of their equipment in the past four days near Vuhledar, Donetsk Oblast. The 155th is one of only two Naval Infantry Brigades of the Pacific Fleet and was transferred East to fight in Ukraine.
Oleg Nikolayevich Kozhemyako, born 17 March 1962, is the Governor of Primorsky Krai, appointed in 2018.
The text of the letter is below:
“Dear Oleg Nikolaevich. The Marines of the 155th Marine Brigade are addressing you. Once again, we were thrown into an incomprehensible offensive by General Muradov and his fellow countryman Akhmedov, in order for Muradov to earn bonuses over Gerasimov and Akhmedov Muradov promised a hero of Russia. As a result, we and the marines of Kamchatka are advancing on Pavlovka. This letter, which has not yet been confirmed as authentic, seems to reflect the desperate fighting conditions for both Russian and Ukrainian soldiers in and around Bakhmut.
