IRGC Intelligence Colonel Fatally Stabbed

The Iranian Government Prosecutor Kermanshah Province has just announced  that Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps Intelligence (IRGC) Colonel Nader Bairami was fatally stabbed by protestors in an attack to disrupt a ceremony for the passing of one of the local elders.

According to the Judicary News Agency, the Intelligence Chief for Sanhe city was martyred when protestors, unrelated to the national protests of the death of Mahsa Amini, attacked the ceremony. In the scuffle, Colonel Bairami was fatally stabbed.

Apparently the colonel arrived on scene after the conflict had already broken out and attempted to mediate.

According to state media: “The incident has nothing to do with riots. About 30 people, including the assailant, have been arrested.”

However, independent Iranian media have been reporting that the rioters were part of the national unrest and they killed at least two security officers and the colonel.
