Founder of Atomwaffen Brandon Russel Arrested for Plot to Attack Maryland Power Grid

Brandon Russel, the founder of the neo-Nazi group Atomwaffen, was arrested today along with his girlfriend for plotting to attack the Maryland power grid.

The couple’s mugshots.

Now, you might think there was an elaborate plan for this attack but there wasn’t.

Apparently, their attack would consist of simply shooting five electrical substations in the Baltimore area.

The plot was uncovered when Brandon’s girlfriend Clendaniel tried to buy a rifle from a federal informant. She apparently went into great detail about what the rifle would be used for when trying to make the purchase.

Both of them are looking at 20 years in prison if they are convicted.
