National Security Council spokesman John Kirby told reporters on Friday that United States military forces shot down an unidentified object over Alaska. Currently, a Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) is active near Prudhoe Bay and a USAF HC-130J Combat King II is airborne over the area.
US officials have not confirmed what this object was, other than Kirby saying it was downed “out of an abundance of caution.”
