Armed Ukrainian National Crashes Plane in Russia

Date:

According to Russian state owned media, a Ukrainian national in a privately owned plane made an emergency landing near Bryansk Oblast, Russia.

According to them, he was detained by Russian border guards after stashing his body armor and rifle, then making a dash for the Ukrainian border. He reportedly claimed his plane’s navigational system was faulty and he did not know he was over Russia.

The FSB statement reads below:

“On April 5, 2023, officers of the Border Directorate of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Bryansk region recorded a violation of the state border from Ukraine to the Russian Federation by a Ukrainian light-engine aircraft. For unknown reasons, the aircraft crashed near the village of Butovsk, Bryansk region. A pilot (a citizen of Ukraine) who tried to escape to Ukrainian territory was detained border patrol.”

Pro-Russian media outlets claimed the man was attempting to drop homemade explosives on the Druzhba pipeline.

The aircraft was a Aeroprakt A-32, light blue.
