At approximately 0351 EST, air raid sirens alerted citizens to the threat of Russian airstrikes throughout Sumy Oblast. By 0435 EST, at least two Shahed-136 loitering munitions had struck residential infrastructure in the center of Sumy city. Traffic was shut down on Petropavliska street where a five-story building was hit.
The Sumy Oblast Administration also confirmed that four Shahed-136s had struck the center of the city with another residential building being damaged and an administrative office.
Ukrainian Presidential Administration Head Yermak confirmed that one person was killed in the initial blast and another sixteen had been injured.
