At Least Seven Wounded in Tel Aviv Car Ramming and Stabbing Attack

At least seven people are wounded after a 20 year old Palestinian man named Abed al-Wahab Khalaila rammed his car into a bus stop, before getting out through the window and starting to stab people. The attack was cut short by an armed civilian who shot Khalaila, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Of those injured, three are severely injured.

Israeli forces have arrested several people in connection with the attack as its circumstances remain unclear. Khalaila was from the West Bank, and seemingly entered Israel without a permit. Though he had no security background, Hamas has claimed him as a member, further stating that the attack was in retaliation for ongoing Israeli action in Jenin.

“The heroic action in Tel Aviv is the first response to Israel’s crimes against our people in the Jenin refugee camp. As the resistance has already put it – Israel will pay the price for its crimes”, said Hamas spokesman Hazem Kassem.

Khalaila’s family has said that he was a locksmith, and had told his boss that he was using the truck that was used in the attack to go and buy groceries.
