The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, and umbrella organization of Iran-backed Shia militias, has claimed responsibility for explosive drone attacks against American forces at the al-Tanf and al-Rukban garrisons in Syria.
CENTCOM has yet to release a statement on the attacks, however, there have been no indications of casualties.
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq has claimed responsibility for a wave of attacks that have repeatedly targeted American forces in both Iraq and Syria over the past week. So far, the Pentagon has only acknowledged that one American contractor has died due to a medical emergency during an attack at al-Asad Airbase in Iraq last Wednesday.
Meanwhile, there has yet to be an American response. The Pentagon has previously said that retaliation will be done at a “time and place of their choosing.”
