PKK Fighters Infiltrate Turkish Base, Kill Several Turkish Soldiers

At approximately 1540 EST, the Turkish government reported that several PKK militants infiltrated a base in northern Iraq that is supporting Operation Claw-Lock. A total of five soldiers were killed and eight more were injured during the brazen raid.

Directly following this attack, Turkish forces carried out several airstrikes across Syria, although the Turkish government did not confirm these were in retaliation for the PKK attack. By 1700 EST, explosions had rocked Tirbespiyeh and al-Malikiyah, Syria.
