U.S. Air Force Aircraft Lost Near Fort Hunter Liggett, Jolon, CA

Update (1611 EST): Fort Hunter Ligget staff have confirmed that an aircraft did land safely on the installation and “kicked up a lot of dust”. However, no aircraft has crashed. Local authorities also investigated and found the crash reports as “Un-founded”.

The local sheriffs office in Jolon, CA  reporting that the U.S. Air Force has lost contact with one of its aircraft near Fort Hunter Ligget. Deputies are in route to the reported scene.

The aircraft apparently went down near the 230 Block of California Avenue in Jolon.
