On February 5, Secretary of State of the United States of America, Antony Blinken, met with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.

A major topic of the meeting was addressing humanitarian needs in Gaza and the prevention of an expansion of the conflict further in the Middle East.

Both the Saudi and the American governments agreed that a cessation of attacks by the Houthis is a key step in reducing regional tensions and creating a lasting peace in Yemen.

The American government gives security aid and assistance to Saudi Arabia in its operations in Yemen. The Houthis, an Iranian-backed terror group is a common enemy of both the United States and Saudi Arabia.
