Colombian Military Helicopter Crash, Quibdo, Choco Colombia

Update (1736 EST): Colombian Joint Task Force Titan commander confirms two dead, two missing from the crash. Locals report they saw two personnel jump from the helicopter before it impacted.

At approximately 1630 EST, reports began to emerge of a Colombian Air Force UH-1 Huey helicopter, tail number EJC-4227, crash outside Quibdo, Choco, Colombia. If the tail number is correct, it belongs to Aviation Air Assault Division TOLEMAIDA.

While it does not appear that any civilian casualties occurred in the settlement, locals are indicating no survivors emerged from the helicopter.

However, a piece of the tail rotor was thrown into the settlement and landed on a sidewalk.

Colombian President Petro has ordered an investigation into the cause of the crash and National Army personnel have been reported to be on the scene. The Colombia Air Force flies 49 of the UH-1s. However, the Colombia National Army Aviation branch also flies this TMS. If the tail number is incorrect in the reporting, then this crash may have came from an Army helicopter squadron.
