Six Ukrainian State Emergency Services Personnel Killed During De-Mining Operations

The Ukrainian State Emergency Services announced that six of its personnel were killed after coming under fire during de-mining operations in Kherson Oblast. The agency oversees disaster relief, emergency services, civil defense and other non-military public assistance. These personnel are non-combatants and their targeted killing does constitute a war crime, if intentional.

Two others, including a paramedic were injured and transported to a local hospital.

The statement from the State Emergency Services representative reads below:

“The world needs to know about this!

Today the dsns has lost part of its family. During the performance of mining tasks in Kherson region, our pyrotechnics came under fire. Six of our specialists were killed. Two others, one female paramedic, were injured and are currently in hospital. Destroyed machinery.

Condolences to family and friends.

Terrorists continue to violate all norms of international law by shooting at our boys, who, for a month, have been trying to pass on territory which the occupiers had ammunition tightly locked.

This can not be forgiven!”
