At Least 14 Casualties in Hezbollah Strike, Arab al-Aramshe, Israel

Deadliest Attack on This Settlement So Far

At approximately 0620 EST, initial reports indicated that a projectile had struck commercial and residential buildings in Arab al-Aramshe, Israel. Casualties were immediately reported as well as damage to several buildings and at least one vehicle destroyed.

Red alert sirens immediately began to sound after the strike had already impacted. The first official announcement came from Israel Magen David emergency services which initially said six were injured.

Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the strike by 0730 EST, saying that it has targeted and IDF barracks with one missile and drone. By 0811 EST, the IDF responded, saying that it had struck Hezbollah-affiliated targets in Aita al-Shaab, Lebanon.

Recurring Target

Arab al-Aramshe officially Aramsha, is a Bedouin village in the Western Galilee in Israel. Located south of the Lebanese border, not far from the Mediterranean coast, the village falls under the jurisdiction of Mateh Asher Regional Council. In 2022 its population was 1,750. This village was reportedly evacuated earlier in 2023 after the threat from Hezbollah rocket strikes increased dramatically following the October 7th war. It is not currently clear if any civilians were injured in this strike.

Since the beginning of the conflict this village has been hit several times. In December 2023, 5 Israelis were injured here after a Hezbollah rocket strike. This village was also struck in January 2024.
