Baykar to Provide Three TB-2 Bayraktar Drones to Ukraine Free of Charge

The Turkish owned and operated defense company, Baykar, announced today that they will be providing three TB-2 Bayraktar Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to Ukraine free of charge after being made aware of a crowdsourced fundraiser to buy these systems.

The fundraiser, launched by Ukrainian showman Serhiy Prytula  on June 22 was supposed to run until June 29th. However, the requested funds, about 15M USD were crowdsources in only three days. Prytula had this to say:

“I want the kind of unity of Ukrainians that I have seen over the past three days around Bayraktars, daily in many other issues where we still lack common denominators. And we will work on it. It was a big project. But there will be even more,” – the presenter assured and added that soon, “watching the video of the work of the Bayraktars, you will be able to safely say:” I also took part in ensuring that there were fewer enemies!”

When Baykar discovered this, they announced that they would not accept the funds in the below message, instead opting to provide the aircraft to the Ukrainian Armed Forces free of charge.
