Update (1821 EST): The substance has been identified as 200 barrels of hydrosulfite.

Update (1553 EST): Fire department HAZMAT units are currently moving into the area to open the container to investigate the contents after the container burst. It is currently unclear what material has leaked.

Emergency crews are attempting to contain a chemical leak from a shipping container in Mannheim Harbor in Germany.

16 police officers have been injured from a liquid gas leak with at least 2 hospitalized. Residents have been ordered to stay inside while evacuations are being carried out in Jungbusch.
