Multiple People Shot, Osprey Cove, NC

Update (2100 140CT22 EST): Yesterday’s shooting was carried out by 15-year-old Austin Thompson (right) who is still hospitalized, suspected of killing five and injuring two others in the East Raleigh neighborhood.

One of the victims was his 16-year-old brother, James Roger Thompson (left), a junior at Knightdale High School.

Update (2145 EST): EMS has been requested for a 15 year old white boy with “a wound”.

Update (2042 EST): Raleigh police denies earlier reports that a suspect has been captured.

Update (2032 EST):

Update (1951 EST): Suspect is reportedly not moving, may be holding a grenade near a barn on McConnel Oliver Drive near Highway 540, which is now shut down. Officers are close to ending this.

Update (1902 EST): Another cop has been shot in the woods near the Neuse River trail outside the Osprey Cove. Suspect is in a gun battle with police officers.

Police are still pursuing a gunman who has shot three and has killed at least one off-duty police officer in the Osprey Cove neighborhood in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The gunfire erupted at approximately 1730 EST causing a neighborhood lockdown as emergency services transported at least four victims. The suspect is still at large.
