Reports of a Rocket Attack on a US Base in Al-Omar, Syria

A US base located near the Al-Omar oil field located east of Deir ez-Zor in northern Syria was allegedly targeted by rocket strikes on Saturday, according to an Iraqi pro-militia news outlet.

It is currently unknown who is responsible for the reported attack; however, some speculate the Islamic Resistance of Iraq, an Iran-backed Shia militia, may be behind the attack as the group has previously targeted US bases located in both Syria and Iraq.

Attacks on U.S. forces have been increasing due to the current Israeli-Palestinian conflict, with the most recent being Wednesday, which you can read here, while three other bases were attacked simultaneously earlier this week, which you can read here.
