More From Me

The multi-CEO billionaire will be removing one CEO title from his namesake following the conclusion of a poll he conducted 13 hours ago. As the poll opened, Elon had some choice words for whoever could possibly take his place.

Musk’s Sunday survey came in response to internet criticism after he abruptly changed Twitter policy last week, which had a material effect on users and their ability to share content sourced outside of Twitter’s platform. Paul Graham, the founder of Y Combinator, and other ardent supporters of Elon Musk voiced their displeasure at the policy, leading Musk to retract his stance and issue an apology. With over 17.5 million votes cast, the majority of voters have voiced their objection to Elon remaining at the helm of the media platform.

Several questions will now come into play. Who will take over Twitter? What does a succession plan look like? What policies could change as a result of this leadership shakeup? The questions will take time to be answered. What remains clear, however, is his passion for keeping Twitter in the hands of people he can trust.
