Date:

Yevgeny Prigozhin met with Russian President Vladimir Putin less then a week after staged a Wagner mutiny, Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters. Russian State Media TASS reported on the announcement. According to his statement, Prigozhin and other Wagner commanders met with Vladimir Putin, but stated that the contents of the meeting “are unknown”. He continued by stating that “The only thing we can say is that the president gave an assessment of the company’s actions, and his assessment of the events of June 24”.

Peskov stated that thirty-five people were in attendance, and that the meeting lasted about 3 hours. Peskov stated that Wagner commanders recounted the revolt from their perspective and “emphasized that they are staunch supporters and soldiers of the head of state and the supreme commander-in-chief.”

He continued by stating that the Wagner commanders were “ready to continue to sit for the Motherland.” This quote could be in reference to the fact Wagner personnel will have to sign contracts with the Russian Ministry of Defense and then be sent back to the frontlines in Ukraine.
