Multiple Casualties Reported in Shooting at Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic

Update (1047 EST): Death toll has risen to eleven killed, twenty four injured, nine of them seriously. The Prime Minister is en route from Olomouc.

Update (1037 EST): More media is emerging allegedly showing the shooter carrying out the attack from the rooftop with a long rifle. The shooter reportedly killed his father before driving to the university, where he is a student.

Update (1032 EST): The Israeli Foreign Ministry has reported that no Israeli citizens were injured after Czech officials confirmed the shooting occurred at the Faculty of Art and Philosophy near the Jewish Quarter of the Old City.

Update (1027 EST): At least four have been killed and 20 have been injured. The suspect was last seen on the roof of what has been reported at the Philosophy building with a rifle. He is now dead.

Update (1000 EST): Eyewitnesses reported that the shooter is dead.

At approximately 0940 EST, initial reports indicated that an active shooter situation was underway at Charles University in Prague. As of this publication, there have been several casualties reported as police order a lockdown of the university.

Charles University is the oldest and largest university in the Czech Republic. It is one of the oldest universities in Europe in continuous operation. Today, the university consists of 17 faculties located in Prague, Hradec Králové and Plze?.
