What to Know:

The Houthis have released a statement confirming the targeting of the Greek bulk carrier Zografia, which was struck by a missile, in the Red Sea earlier today. No injuries were reported during the attack.

Statement:

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea released a statement saying that “The naval forces of the Yemeni Armed Forces, with the help of God Almighty, carried out a targeting operation against the ship “Zogravia”, which was heading to the ports of occupied Palestine, with a number of suitable naval missiles, and the hit was direct. The targeting operation came after the ship’s crew rejected warning calls, including fiery warning messages.”

Strikes Continue:

Per usual, the statement also added that “The Yemeni armed forces will continue to implement the decision to prevent Israeli navigation or those associated with the Israeli enemy in the Red and Arab Bahrain until the aggression is stopped and the siege on the steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip is lifted.”

Since the United States carried out extensive strikes against Houthi positions in Yemen on Thursday, the Houthis have carried out multiple attacks against commercial vessels, as well as launching explosive drones towards American naval vessels.

The Houthis have warned that “All American and British ships and warships involved in the aggression against our country are considered hostile targets by the Yemeni armed forces,” adding, “The Yemeni Armed Forces confirm that a retaliation to the American and British attacks is unavoidable, and that no future attack will go unpunished.”
