Captagon Factory Raided in Lebanon

Captagon Factory Raided in Lebanon

Date:

Yesterday the Lebanese army raided a captagon factory. Images released online show a rare look into the production facilities for captagon, a popular amphetamine pill in the Middle East. Lebanese authorities also seized a significant amount of captagon pills during the raid. The authorities also raided a number of other homes and warehouses involved in cannabis and captagon trafficking.

The raids took place in the town of Yammouneh in the Bekaa Valley, a popular region for drug smuggling on the Lebanon-Syria border. Captagon is primarily produced in Syria where there is growing evidence of heavy regime involvement in the trade. There is also evidence that Hezbollah, an ally of the Syrian regime, is involved in the captagon trade.
