Europol has announced a massive operation against a European drug-trafficking group where 49 people have been arrested. The operation, taking place from November 8th to the 19th, was a coordinated attack with raids in Belgium, Spain, France, UAE, and the Netherlands. The operation, called Operation Desert Light, saw over 30 tonnes of cocaine seized.
Europol called the trafficking group a “super cartel’ which controlled around a third of Europe’s cocaine trade, the largest cocaine market in the world. The members were said to be “high value targets” whose “control and command” of the cocaine trade was massive.
