Seven Killed During Police Firefight with Suicide Bombers in Karachi, Pakistan

According to initial local reports, Pakistani Taliban gunmen, including suicide bombers, dressed as police officers entered the rear of the office to the Karachi Police Chief and opened fire with small arms and grenades, prompting an immediate response from security personnel. Additional units and special forces were dispatched to assist in the firefight with the attackers. Four victims of the attack were two police officers, one ranger, and one sanitation worker. As well, all three of the claimed Taliban Pakistan attackers were killed reported security forces. Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) took responsibility for the attack on WhatsApp.

At the time officials stated that the building and staff had been locked down and the lights were turned off as they waited for new units to arrive to clear the fighting.
